3 Feathers.... I am anxious to see how your barrel job works out.  Ive got a model 7 that shoots like a dream with factory ammo (that is on some days).  Other days I could group better with a sling shot.

Have yet to find a hand load that will equal the factory ammo.

So you got lucky  ::)  the one 3 feathers brought might shoot 1/2" groups if you consider 20 yards a suitable distance.

Sad but after a long time trying and loads of ammunition shot and tried the Model 7 that 3 feathers has will sometimes shoot a 2" group mostly if I read his original post correctly it's larger.

Of course he could have wasted more time sending the rifle back to Remington but as it will shoot a " groups with some ammunition then it meets their acceptance standard so that would be a waste of time and more money for the shipping.

Just enjoy yours and reflect just how lucky you are that yours shoots as well as it does.

Been there done that with a ruger MK II...after almost 2 years, a new Shaw barrel and I suspect hundreds of dollars in reloading components....it's gone....a new Sako A7 will be in its place.  Just got tired of 2-3" groups......

T've not had great problems with the M7 but have experiebce with only a few. Currently have 2, a very early 222 Rem and a 7-08.. The 222 loves 50 gr. Hornadays and BLC2 while the 7-08 is much newer and still a work in progress. The stock was treated to a coat of liquid bedliner. Ugly as sin but totally water proof..
