Author Topic: Buldge in 32 case with .312 bullets (Read 393 times)

This is an off-shoot of my other thread but I notice that when I load the .312+ bullets the 32 cases have a buldge where the bullet is. The .311's don't make this budlge.

Thoughts??

as long as they chamber it shouldnt be a problem i get it alot especially with my .45 colt. Its actually a good thing as it insures that you have good tension on the bullet.

Thanks for the quick reply. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't making a mistake. Don't have this with the 45 RV's but they're different guns and calibers--figured I needed to ask

You may have a problem in 60 or 70 years as the stress on the brass will cause a crack in the lip area. So, shoot 'em all up before then.

You may be sizing them(cases)down too for or more than necessary. I have a Blackhawk in 30 Carbine and the cast bullet load shows a distinct bulge with .309 bullets. I now use a carbide 32 mag die for sizing just the neck enough to have a good hold on the bullet.
