Current Price
« on: May 29, 2012, 12:41:14 PM »
I am back in the market for another single holer and am thinking about a 28 gauge this time.  I have found new H&R's for $160 which seems high to me.  What is the going rate I should expect to pay for a NIB pardner?

Thanks.

I Looked at em today at the local chain store(Bimart), they had a Pardner 12ga and 20ga for $126.99 each.  I'd check Walmart to see what they'd order one for locally.... if yours still sells firearms that is.

My local Walmart (in central TX) has 12 gauge Pardners for $117. However, I've never seen anything but 12s in there. I suspect you'll pay more for a new 28 simply because they won't be commonly found, if at all, in the big discount chains.

I've bought several H&Rs from Bud's, they aren't quickest to ship, but always got what I ordered within 2-3 weeks.

Seems like prices are rising at Wally World. I remember a few months back seeing one in the display for under $120. I spotted one at the local Pawn store last month for $130 and it looked well used. They would only come down to $120 so I told them no thanks but I would just go get a new one at Walmart for the same price. I checked on prices at WM yesterday and they had risen to $177! Of course that was after they had probably "rolled back" the price from $229.

I could be wrong but i think i paid $129.95 for my 28 ga. at the gun shop i deal with. About 10 bucks more than the 12 or 20. The two Walmart in my area no longer sell guns. :(

I just paid $199 for my 28 ga. that I had my local dealer order for me. I might have been able to do better but I have a good thing going with these folks at my local hardware store.

I did get a shock when I went to buy shells though. OUCH!

Maybe I should have looked more into reduced loads for my 20 ga instead.

I really do need to add the 28 gauge to the H&R collection  :)

Old thread, but always relevant, I guess. 12's & 20's are almost always cheaper, just due to volume sales. Large chains like Walmart can obviously order anything, since they hold an FFL like any other dealer. But they typically aren't putting a 28 gauge or.410 Pardner out there as a loss leader like they will a 12 gauge Pardner. Local Walmarts still have the 12 for $117 last time I looked, which admittedly was several weeks ago.

16 gauge are not rare. Tons on gunbroker and other auction sites but they are not in current production.
