Duce:

Your Welcome my friend.

We need to get the word out,to as many of our old compatriots,as we can,and let them know we now have a new home.We had a-lot of great discussions, and I don't want to see that end.I got a-lot out of being over there, and hope to be able to give something back.

:agree:  I heartily agree with the above dislocated/relocated posters. Thanks Greybeard for this safe haven and great site. Let us continue the carmaradarie, friendship and free exchange of information and ideas we have enjoyed for the last year or 2 on the old closed site. Let it rest in peace. Onward and upward!!....<><....

Glad to see familiar names here as well.  I have found many of the forums here to have valuable tips and hints.

Thanks for the dedicated H&R/NEF forum.

Lots of H&R/NEF tips under Single shot Rifles.   But it will be nicer to have it concentrated on its own forum.

On a side note, Graybeard has a use it or lose it policy.  But I am sure that this forum will get used.

Thanks DUCE and MAC1170 for moderating.

Scruffy,

I haven't been out, but a co-worker is 3 for 4 in having coyotes come to the rabbit distress call.  He's 3 for 3 on shots.  How's the hunting in SC Iowa.

Use it or lose it isn't exactly a policy. Just something I've told folks about Forums that were asked for and after a year or more have barely been used at all. I don't require a lot of use but when a forum goes a month or more between posts it is pretty obvious it just isn't really wanted.

Hey Neal!

I'm 1-1 for February for calling them in, 0-1 for pelts.  I went out Monday just before the snow stopped and called in one.  He approached from behind me, got about to 20 yards behind me, barked a couple times, and ran off....  I made another stand and called in a big po'd grey squirrel.  Some days it just goes like that I guess.

I hope to get out tomorrow sometime, maybe even make a call or two late tonight depending on the strength of the snow and how brite it is.  Fresh 7" of snow by tomorrow should get them up and moving!

I'm using my NEF 12 gauge pardner w/Remington premeir #2 hevishot waterfowl (waterproof/snowproof), what are you using?

this is so cool!

Hi guys, I'm nipper from the NEF site.

a SINCERE thanx to all who put this together so quickly.

been a rough few days anyway.  then last nite, get on the puter, and no H&R Talk

was going to call them today anyway and ask where my recoil pad was, so I asked about the forum. he said all he was told was that "it was a marketing decision, and it will not return"

anyway, come home today after helping carry the casket of an old friend.

make a few more phone calls( good thing I got that new battery for the cordless last week)
start looking on the yahoo site(hadn't been there in a long time. good people. just hard to follow format)

one thing led to another, and those familiar names started popping up on this site. :-)

I wanted to add my thanks as well.  I was not a regular "poster" but I do read and benefit from all the posts.  It was because of the other forum that made me decide to purchase my first NEF rifle.  I am not sure why they did a way with the forum.  Without it, I never would have bought a NEF.  Hopefully, once I am able to get out and shoot my new rifle, I will be able to contribute to the discussions.

I'd like to add my thanks as well.  The H&R site wasn't the only forum that I visited, but it was always the first one I looked at.

Looks like we are back in  business. This will be a bit of slow process to get back into the runnin and build up the archives. The most frequent ask questions are still available since it is a private web page. Need to dig up the addi.

Yes the Yahoo forum is not my piece of cake neither. they want to know too much personal history so they can peddle the my name to all web spamers.

That's one thing you won't ever have to worry about here. I hate SPAM as much as anyone. I won't allow anything here that I'd not want myself. So we've set it so SPAMBOTS can't read your e-mail address unless you post it on the messages. We don't collect or sell addresses or send out anything to you that you've not requested. I treat you the way I want to be treated myself.

Hey Guys :D

I must say I felt very alone when I went to the H&R forum and discovered what they had done to us  I guess that is some payback for us being  loyal customers to H&R. I love the Handies but, I must say that it has left a bad taste in my mouth with H&R . This is a great place to get info. I have been here alot. I am very glad to see guys here that I have read alot post from in the past and respect very much. My user name at H&R was Mike4268

Thanks to Duce, Mac and most of all Graybeard

PS: A few of the guys are over at Shotgunworld.com forum

Just want to say welcome to all the new folks here at Graybeard Outdoors. I dont have a NEF or H&R rifle myself (although I have thought about one in 17 HMR) but thought I'd stop by and see what was going on here. I can say you won't find a better place on the net to hang out the right here. Graybeard and his moderators do a great job of keeping this a place where any family member can come and feel comfortable. I have been comming here for quite a while and everyone is very helpful. Be sure and check out the other forums here also if you haven't already and enjoy.
