Police say 32-year-old John Kirchner endured burns on approximately 30 percent of his body and has been taken to University Hospital. He is expected to recover. Kirchner's grandparents were sleeping upstairs and both made it out of the home safely.
The fire was caused by a meth lab that Kirchner was allegedly running in the basement of the home. LMPD says he will be charged with manufacturing meth and two counts of wanton endangerment
