i was watching the news the other day and they were talking about how the show my little pony friendship is magic  very popular with guys 18-30 years old. they also had a reporter at the 1st ever 'My Little Pony' Convention Called 'BronyCon' Gather In New Jersey . http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/01/male-my-little-pony-convention-bronycon_n_1641235.html
 
A lot of guys there that they showed are in the military(i saw most of the  military branches beside coast gruad) and   the Military Times had a story  about pony enthusiasts in uniform.  they called themselfs Bronies = Bro + Pony : A name typically given to the male viewers/fans of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic show or franchise. They typically do not give in to the hype that males aren't allowed to enjoy things that may be intended for females.

While generally associated with a negative stereotype by outsiders, due to it's former 80's frilly girly-girl twinkle-toed tea-parties and all-female main casting, bronies are attracted to the new show by it's good animation, acting, writing, and humor.

I just got cable TV 2 months ago and now i also to watch my little pony(i was waiting for top shot to come on and well i saw it the 1st time and liked it).

No concern here.
I'm a guy.
I like huntin', shootin', the wife, eating red meat, dipping Skoal, and SEC football.
But I will watch Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, or Grease, or West Side Story every time they come on.

I wonder how many of these guys are "Bronies" because of their children.  I've not seen the show but I watch a lot of girly tv shows on netflix to spend time with my 3 year old daughter.  Just a thought...

same here. my daughter is 23. Except now, she will also watch hunting shows and SEC football.
