SR22 shooting low
« on: July 20, 2012, 12:26:46 PM »
Took my wife out to shoot her new SR22.  We fired about 200 rounds through it without a hitch.  However, with both types of ammo we tested, it consistantly shot about 5-6 inches low at 25 feet with the rear sight all the way down.  Anyone else have this problem?
I wonder if Ruger has lower front sights?

You move the rear sight in the direction you want the bullet to go; ie, if it is shooting low you want it to shoot higher, so you raise the rear sight.

They arent a target gun; have you tried point 'n pull instinct shooting? Might just go pretty much where you are looking. Try a bunch of different ammo, too.
Also, sights are just a point of reference (yes, it would be nice if they all shot right to POA with the target sight picture, but.....) try holding the front blade above the horizontal plane of the rear top, still centered, of course, and find the sweet spot for the way you look and hold. You may need to crank the back down to get it repeatable. Then just practice makin' hits.
