I don't try to trap badger , but it never fails I get a bunch in my sets
I like to set on pond dams for yotes and a badger always seems to find it.
You can look for badger diggings around golfer holes ,and stocktank dams.
they like warm weather to . as for putting them up , ha ha ha . I find somebody to give them to . alot of work , and they stink worst than a skunk . now this is just my apinon

Welcome to the Forum :D

I too do not go out of my wat to catch badgers, but if I were too...I'd be looking for their borrows and setting traps in a wide trench sorta set.  They will come to any good bait and do not seem to shy away from stong lures.  If you case skin them with the paws intact to the first joint you will be able to get the best possible price.  Fleshing is a bit of a chore and they do have their own odor.  they tend to hole up in cold weather but move well on the forst warm spell after a cold snap.

find a place you know where they inhabit and make any dirt hole with lotsa eye appeal.(the nice thing, they do make a nice ditch for themselves for a grave... lol) when skinning try to bypass the vent and cut off the tail and remove the bone later... what you are trying to do is NOT to express any fluids from those stink sacks near the anus. GOOD LUCK
