Got a Meridian Gold for CHRISTmas with a 16 MB card. As is, it loads maps just fine. I picked up a 64 Meg card and when I try to upload, the Meridian tells me I am limited to 16 MB.

What am I doing wrong?

goto megellians web site and down load software verison 5.12 and follow directions should cure the problem. at least that is what they told me. I have a mederian gps and it only goes to 4.02. beings you have a gold there is an upgrade there to 5.12 good luck

I uploaded the 5.12 and I still can't get the rascal to recognize the 64 meg card?

go ahead and try loading a large map to it and see if it works. I think it will

Won't work. Tried to upload a 60 meg map and I get an error message that says the map area must be under 16 megs.

I formatted the card before starting. As soon as I identify a map over 16 megs and go to upload it says it can't do it, limited to 16 megs.

Anything under 16 megs loads right up.

Should I get an SD card read/write device?

Well by golly I tried everything on this rascal. Started from scratch, cleared the memory and uploaded the new firmware.

It still will not recognize the 64 meg card.

When I get a chance I'll call Thales Navigation.
