Kansas fish and game still officially denies the existence of Mountain Lions in Kansas although there have been more and more citizen reports in recent years. Around 8:00 this morning my wife was watering in the back yard when our dog went on alert and ran for the pond. The pond is only a quarter acre in size and is right off our backyard. When she looked to see where the dog was going she spotted the lion drinking out of the pond in an area I keep cleared for birds so she had a clear view of it. Since I keep the pond up with well water it one of the few places left in the area for animals to find good water and we have seen much more wildlife in general there the last few weeks. She got a real good look at it before our dog chased it off. She said it clearly had the long tale and was clearly larger than our dog which is fairly good sized. Guess I need to get the trail cam out tonight.

I dont know how I would feel about having a pet like that sneaking around. Mountain lions spook me out. They are true stealth predators and you probably wont know they are watching you until it is too late. ODNR claims there are no mountain lions here too and yet there is a site called Ohio Mountain Lion Watch with loads of reports of sightings.
Hi NSA! Can you see how many fingers I am holding up?

If these pictures come across okay can anyone tell me if they think these are possible tracks? The picture of my backyard shows part of the pond and the dock. We found about a dozen possible tracks. Some in front of the dock including the picture with my wife's hand next to the possible track. The other track picture was taken by the fence/tree line to the right of the pond.

They are in Missouri, and that the ones in that state came from Montana and Wyoming.  To get there they had to cross Kansas.  Ask your Fish and Game dept about how they can get to Missouri, without going through Kansas.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

We have them in New Hampshire but our fish and game dept. denies their existence also despite tons of eyewitness, photo and track evidence.

I've heard big cats around my place and seen tracks that measure over 3 1/2 +  in but I've never seen a big cat here. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D

yes, a farmer shot one out of a tree that his dogs treed in n mo here a couple years ago.it was in the middle of his cow herd.this spring i saw a large perfect track in the mud that was 4" wide, deep in the mud with no claws showing in a ravine that ended in spring river near miami ok.you could see where it came down to drink and left.

im not so sure that they came across kansas as much as they came up from ark tho.
