Think I may have found the maxi load for the girl
« on: September 02, 2012, 06:14:17 AM »
I poured and loaded some more Ranch dog 190 PB yesterday.  The came out at 194 using aircooled WW.  BHN on the tester showed 14.9  This is out of a 17" barrel loaded with 15 gr of 2400.  I shot it through a gallon jug and 15" of wet newspaper.  It stopped on the back side of the box.  Retained 184.7 gr and had diameter of .642.  If any of you guys want to calculate the MV the BC from RD shows .2836 with a Sect Density of .2123.  If I ever stop buying handis long enough maybe I will get a chrono.  Groups were .74" at 50 yrds.

Handis: .17 mach2 (x2), .22 lr, 22 hornet, .22 jet, .223, .243, .270, .280, .357 max (x2), 35 remington, 35 whelen, 45-70, 445sm, 30-30, 410, 500 S&W, 50 AK

I've been thinking of getting this mold in GC.  If you will send me a few bullets I'll chrono the load for you in my Maxi.
I use the Magnespeed chrony.  If you would want other loads i.e. charge, powder I can do it for you.  I have most of the powders used in the Maxi.

Thats a good looking bullet and likely a very deadly whitetail/hog loading!!

With a SD just over 200 its in good company as well!
