model 63
« on: July 12, 2012, 12:53:21 PM »
Hey guys and gals, I have a really handsome savage model 63 22 cal rifle. What I need is a knowledgeable savage/stevens gunsmith. This model rifle is fairly unique in how the bolt body is attached to the barrel and also in how the bolt and ejector work. I have worked on this piece for months and have noy been able to solve my problems and I want to send it out for repair. The firing pin will not make contact, and the ejectorwill not engage the cartridge.Anybody able to help?

I ain't no gunsmith but it may be that the bolt is not going fully to battery. May be some sort of obstruction keeping from fully engaging. I have heard but never experienced that dry firing a 22rf semi auto can damage the chamber and prevent the cartridge from full seating in the chamber thus preventing bolt from going fully to battery.

Pm me for more details.
