Taurus Tracker titanium 41 mag makes meat

I was finally able to get the shot at a nice doe...broadside 45 yards standing still. One shot she ran about 40 yards ears back tail down  and dropped. The bullet hit straight middle of heart hit one rib on way in and one rib on other side but did not  exit. Load was about 1550fps 210gr xtp did not find the bullet though. There was no blood trail but she was full of blood. Open sights no scope. Kurt

Thank you .I do have some concern I wish I had found the slug as I am not sure if there is actually a better bullet out there than the hunting xtp and not getting the exit would surprised me some ...but then I have also had several short range 20ga slug kills that did not exit. i may do some research on other bullets but one attempt really doesn't prove much. Kurt

I have shot probably 1/2 dozen deer with that bullet but at closer to 1350 -1400 fps. In every single one I found the bullet just under the hide on the opposite side. They expanded nicely and on average had about 95% weight retention. The shots ranged from 20-35 yards and only 2 went anywhere and even then it wasn't far.
I wonder if the bullet isn't somewhere in your gutpile. It may have broke the rib and deflected back.
