I also read an old thread that mentioned a RECALL? Any information on that? It mentioned serial #s?

I have one that will do 2" 3 shot groups from a couple of slugs.  It is best with lightfield hybrids, which will do just about 1.5" 3 shot groups at 100.  The trigger isn't great, but I have worked on it a bit and it is about 4 lbs and fairly crisp.  It sure is ugly though.

I don't think I could get much better from a tar hunt, and I would definately look at the Savage 220 before I went with the t-h.

thanks this gun has been surprisingly accurate just with open sites,I am going to polish the trigger and start with a BDC scope and Lightfield slugs for experimentation.

Mine was one of the recall models which were all of them under serial number 16000 I think. Its a special gun to me, dirt cheap, solid and accurate. I even like how it looks and feels. Only complaint is the weird safety and the clip doesn't feed. Deer hunting with it is a one shot proposition though so I just use it as a single shot. It floors any critter it hits so ones all I ever needed. Accuracy is about 3" at 100y with 2-3/4" Rem copper solids which is all thats ever been down the pipe in the last 10 years. The gun is more accurate than that but me and the trigger hold it back. I knew when I took my first shot with it that it was a winner, the new gun/scope was already dead on with no adjusting. In 10 years I never had to adjust that scope. Never had that happen before. I will never need another slug gun.  J
