I've had an older model 60 for years (38 spl) 2". Wanted more power so got a Ruger SP 101 .357 with 3" bbl. At first liked it ,but the action and sights were not the same standards as S&W's. Then bought a used S&W 60-4 38 Spl with 3" bbl. Liked it very much as a woods walking gun, but still was looking for more power, not that I really needed more power," just in case" I wanted it. Finally, I purchased a S&W model 65 .357 mag with 3" bbl and round butt (and six shots!!!) and this gun meets all my requirements. Reasonably light, compact, plenty of power if needed, and as stated six shots. This is my complete "all around"gun for my purposes. I don't use many full power .357's, mostly wadcutter 38's, +P 38's and some mild .357's. A great great gun. But I still have my original model 60 - it's not going anywhere!
