22 k hornet lite loads

I,m looking for squirrel loads at about 22mag performance level.  say 40gr. at or under 2000fps. not looking for cast data. just jacketed. maybe 35gr. at similiar speed.  thanks.

You could try Unique with 40g bullets , just go with starting standard Hornet data , it should get you in the ball park of  around 1800 fps , not sure how accurate that load would be but you could try it , also TrailBoss would be another one that would get you down there .

Thanks brother Stimpy;  I,m suprised that no one has any squirrel loads for a k hornet.  1800fps would be in area I want to be.  All starting loads are above this and I'm concerned doing reduced loads and flash over or pressure spikes.

The Hornady 8th K Hornet data lists their 55gr bullets down to 1950fps with H110, Li'gun, 296, 2400, and IMR4227.

thanks Tim;  I'm alittle out of date, just looked at my hornady 3rd edition.  wow does time fly.  that load is still abit more than I'm looking for.  want to use the frag bullets in 35, 40, maybe 45gr range.  I have 35's.

The Lee 2nd lists 8.7gr 5744 under a 40gr jacketed bullet for 1943fps in the Hornet, that would be worth a try, it also lists 11.3gr 2015(compressed) @1762fps. I've used start loads for fireforming parent brass to improved chamberings, wouldn't be much different, a reduced load if you will. I've used 5744 down to 50% load densities in other cartridges, ya might check with AA's ballistician to see what he says. He'll need the case capacity in grains  water weight, the bullet of choice and COL. Johan Loubser used to be their ballistician, but he no longer works there last I read, I have his direct email addy, but don't know the new fella's email.
