I carried the 10mm Witness as a duty gun for a while. I was fortunate to have a lot of leeway in sidearms, thanks to a gun savvy chief. I don't like the DA/SA transition either, I carried it C&L. It was great to have the option to carry personal guns. I recently shot a few IDPA matches with the 9mm Witness. I tried it both ways, hammer down, DA first shot in SSP and C&L for a SA first shot in ESP. There was no significant difference in my time to first shot or first shot accuracy. Kind of surprising to an old 1911 guy! I think the Witness/Tanfoglio pistols are money well spent. I'm happy shooting Glock 34/35 for the moment, but really thinking about a Tanfoglio Custom Match in .40. It would make a great Limited USPSA gun for less than $1000.
