My "new" Handi
« on: September 20, 2012, 08:10:59 AM »
Look what the brown truck brought to me today! I sent in the receiver about 2 weeks ago and already have it back. A nice new .357 barrel! For some reason i didnt expect the scope mount on it, a nice suprise. But what is even better was the forarm. I only sent in a stock and it came back with a NEW  forarm and MY stock. is that normal for the forarm to come with the barrel? I just mounted up the Ultra dot and i think it will work great. It sits about as low as i can get it in some low mount Burris rings. If anyone knows of any lower rings let me know. No issues with clearing the hammer on this one. All i need now is to get it off to my smith for a cut and thread at 16". Then i will be waiting for the ATF to approve my Octane 9!

Congrats!! Weaver top mounts, Leupold Rifleman as well as some Millett aluminum rings are a bit lower, Midway lists ring heights for comparison. Burris used to make extra low Zee rings, but they discontinued them.  :-\

Forends don't normally come with accessory barrels except for some like the Huntsman barrels, they have to install a forend when doing the test firing, may have just forgot and left it on..... or Brian did had a hand in it!  ;D

Be sure to post in the Ilion Satisfaction Poll so folks can stay up to date on turn around time.

Thx,

Tim
