yup!  got this in an e-mail  anyone know anything about it?  Are we going to have telemarkrters badgering us on cell phones?

PASS THIS ON!!!!!!! REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this month. REMINDER.....  all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls. .... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: . It is the National DO NOT CALL list It will only take a minute of your time.. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number. HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON. It takes about 20 seconds. https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspxPlease forward to family and friends.
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

That might be real and it might be a means to gain your phone number so the telemarketers can call you.  The safest bet is to find out who actually can put your number on the do not call list.

It came out a few years ago that we could call a certain number and block the unwanted telemarketers and such. But I have been getting political polling and robo-calls ever since anyway. I screen all my cell phone calls. Anyone that calls me that is not on my caller ID list or the caller's ID is blocked, it goes unanswered. Sometimes it goes to voicmail and I get a partial robo-call. The only way I know to positively block unwanted calls is to go to my online account with Verizon and block the specific number. But I have to know the number to block it.
