Ruger 10/22
« on: October 15, 2012, 03:09:58 AM »
A cousin of mine stopped by yesterday with several guns to shoot. One was a factory deluxe model (Medallion in the stock, nice wood, checkering and scalloping of the forearm). It felt good and pointed nicely but except for a 45/70 trapdoor I don't think I have ever handled a rifle with such a stout trigger pull. It must be 12# or more. The first time either one of us tried to fire it we stopped to see if the safety was still on. Both his H&R .22 revolver and my S&W had lighter pulls in double action mode than this rifle. Never having owned one before are all 10/22s like this?

That is stout even for a new one.  The good news is there are parts kits you can easily and cheaply get on the internet that will give you an outstanding trigger pull.  Most come with good directions and can be done by anyone with reasonable mechanical skills.
