I find this to be offensive on a personal level. My father immigrated to the United States in the 1960s. He was chasing the American Dream but not necessarily for himself.
He wanted my brother and I to grow up in this great country. And I am lucky because of it.
For anybody who agrees with Michelle Obama, I suggest they try to make it in another country. Go ahead, try. The United States it the most accepting nation in the world and I doubt you'll find a better country to live.

That is not what the 5 second video clip said. Clearly those five seconds were part of a whole lot more she said. If we could hear the entire thing in context she might have said something totally different.

I have zero use for the obamas but taking five seconds of a speech and using it that badly out of context is just not right. I'd want to know what she had said in the minute or so before and after that five seconds before I could say that she in fact said what your subject line indicates.

Not going to disagree with that, but I am betting that in this one case, it has been manipulated.

Hmm, let's see. Both she and her husband got a free ride through Harvard because of their skin color. Their grades were terrible, the free ride would have ended there for most. Both of them never really worked a day in their lives. Community organizer and community affairs. Then politics for him. Her salary increased incredibly, as he gained political power. Where again he didn't actually work, didn't even vote most of the time. And currently, he seems to be a professional golfer.traveler and an apologist for the country that they both seem to hate. Her job seems to be dictating what is best for American children. He tends to focus on encroachment of rights and lightening the wallets of the working class to give a hand out to those that don't work.

I can see why she doesn't agree. They are millionaires without working a day in their lives. Everything handed to them.  The majority of Americans could never hope to attain the prosperity they enjoy with several lifetimes of hard work. She is correct, the American Dream doesn't exist to individuals that have gotten as many breaks in life. There is no need for it when you get a free ride. The skin color comment will most likely incite the antagonists on here to call me out as a racist.  I'm fine with that. It's a simple fact that the majority of Americans could not continue to receive a scholarship at Harvard with lackluster grades. If someone else is paying the dime excellence is expected.
They are setting a shining example. You don't need to work hard. You don't need to work at all. You will get  a free ride. Others can pay for you and your upkeep. You don't need to be a citizen to enjoy the benefits. Just let the government decide what's best for you and yours and all will be well.

That's all I saw in the video. Not much there.It took me longer to type 10 or so words than to watch it. What is noteworthy, here?

I didn't hear the whole speech but it came from a woman who has only been proud to be an American a couple times in life . It came from a woman who did not understand the respect shown the American flag . Does one really need to hear more of the speech to grasp the message considering the source ?
