I tried to google "bayonet frog", which only produces the leather/metal sleeve for carrying the bayonet to the belt. But what is that metal piece on the bayonet scabbard that slips into the bayonet frog?
Can anyone direct me to a source for buying one?

Frog stud, if your talking about the little protrusion on a metal bayonet scabbard. Depends what type of bayonet you have, if someone knows where to get them or not. But most likely one would have to be made and brazed on. Here is a site with a bunch of pics. Maybe you can find what the original would have looked like. http://www.old-smithy.info/
Have a good day.

It's called a locket.  You can get them here:

Thank you much!
I want to make a scabbard for my Bowie knife as I wear suspenders rather than a belt. I can slip the scabbard in my waistband and have the frog stud catch on the waistband.
