Buying B. P.
« on: August 10, 2012, 01:28:09 PM »
Where can i get a good price on BP? I found some Schuetzen for $12.99. Went by Dixie gun works the other day and wiped my finger prints off of a bag of it. If any one has comments on Schuetzen i would be glad to here them. What is the difference in FA and FG i saw it somewhere but i cant find it? $15.77lb. to your house.

At least at one point, Schuetzen was highly prized by the BP Cartridge Silhouette shooters.

If what you saw was a one pound quantity buy as much as you can for that price before they figure out that it hasn't been re-priced for years.

According to   https://www.powderinc.com
FG is used for cannons and firearms.
FA is used for "lift" and "burst " charges in fireworks.

I purchased 10lbs of KIK in 2&3FG @$17.00 a pound with shipping and hazmat fee's included. This would of made it in the low $ 14 bucks a pound range. Also with powder inc. you have to be Reg. with the company before shipping. The form is on the web site.

Have used Powder Inc for several years, great service and competative pricing. Nice to have to the door delivery.

Sorry about that, I purchased it from powder Inc. I also called them to advise that a registration form was en route via USPS. The kind man in Customer Service said OK and shipped the package.

Thanks for the source Atllaw.  I thought this stuff was supposed to be a high end product like swiss.  Anybody know how it compares to Goex.  I don't want to make the same mistake I made like when I  bought Elephant powder which was so weak by the time you used enough to equal Goex, it was actually a lot more expensive.

"FG is used for cannons and firearms.
FA is used for "lift" and "burst " charges in fireworks."

I know a guy who uses FAAA (3FA?) and says it's about half way between 1f and cannon.

Only difference is it's not graphite coated (thats what the G is for).  It's not as consistent grain size and you will have more powder at the bottom of the can.

Yall must be getting deals at powder inc. according to the prices on the websites i cant see where it is cheaper than Graf's, matter fact i see $6.00 to $7.00 a lb. difference. If it's not that much difference in Fa and Fg why not shoot it in cannons unless you are shooting competion or testing. Dont get me wrong i have never orderd anything from either place just going by what i see. Looking a little deeper maybe i missed something.

I have WANO 2FA available for $375.00 for 50 Lbs. 2FA works great; it is lift powder, but my cannon can't tell the difference
We sell a ton of it (literally) off the website
PM me for more info
Price goes to $7.00/ Lb after 200 Lbs

Check the prices on the stickey resources list.
There are several in that range.
You might want to become a sponsor - there are advantages in advertizing.
