Glock magazines
« on: August 26, 2012, 06:57:51 AM »
Neighbor moving and wants to sell me his extra glock.  Been in his garage for several years never fired.  Hot summers, cold winters.  Mags loaded all this time.  Wondering about the mag springs always being compressed, mags swelling, not fitting. Are they still OK?

Thanks

The mags are fine. Even if they weren't, they are cheap. I carried loaded Glock mags in the trunk of a police car for a few years. Still use the magazines. I have 20 or so that I keep loaded at all times. When I pack for matches I grab a dozen or so to minimize reloading time on stages. I reload the mags when I get home toss them back in the cabinet for next time. By the way, I have a couple dozen of the Korean mags. They work great. I used they in yesterday's match. They were about $5 from CDNN. I still see them for less than $10 from time to time.

you siad the "mags swelling, not fitting" it sounds like he has some early non lined magazines. If you take the rounds out the mag may go back to normal size and fit in the  pistol. If this is the case you  can sell the mags to people that are in the pre-ban stated for a good bit and use that money to buy your self some new magazines.  even if you cant sell them the springs are cheep as are the magazines I have seen factory mags for as little as $10 each
