John,
I can't comment on the Austin Halleck Mountain Rifles, but it sure does like nice.  
I can however comment on the CVA bobcat and Lyman Deerstalker.
The CVA Bobcat is junk! The old saying goes: "You get what you pay for"

The Lyman Deerstalker is, IMHO, a very nice gun.  Its got a nicely finished stock.  The fit & finish, over-all quality is nice.  Its got a nice solid feel and balance to it.  And it only cost me $212.00 at Midsouth shooting supplies.   The only thing I don't like is the nylon ramrod.  Its only tapped for tools on one end.  The gun would look so much nicer if it was solid wood, matching the stock.

Since it appears your looking to spend some serious money on a good gun, CVA and Lyman are not something you'd consider. Especially CVA.
I don't see why Austin Halleck Mountain Rifle shouldn't be a very nicely build one that you'd be happy with.

IMHO?  I don't think you can go wrong.  But I'm sure other may disagree.

The Austin Hallecks as they were made when Niles Burkett owned the company are excellent firearms. (Niles recently sold A & H and I don't have any experiecne with the new owners.) My Mountain Rifle is a joy to shoot. It has the extra fancey tiger striped maple, plum brown finish and a 1:28 barrel. Once I got the loads developed my rifle shoots both saboted bullets and conicals very well. I have used it to harvest a whitetail buck, an axis buck and a pronghorn. Good luck and happy shooting!

One of my buds has an A&H Mountain Rifle.  Very nice.  I've often threatened to get one myself.  He's a serious shooter and routinely gets 2" groups from the bench at 100 yards.  The best I do with my GPR is about 3"-4"   I do a little better with my DGW Tennessee Mtn Rifle.  When I shot his, I also got 2" groups.  I found the lock and trigger to be very fine - but not as fine as the Tennessee.  

I will always favor a longer barrel as it sits still for the offhand shot and makes the most efficient use of powder while giving a longer sight radius.  The A&H and GPR have 32" tubes which I consider minimum length.
