stuck cases in my 22 mag henery
« on: August 20, 2012, 04:30:43 PM »
I am haveing problems with stuck fired cases in my henry leveraction, I cleaned the chamber first thinking it might be built up crud in the chamber but it's still doing the stuck case thing. Very iritating jam when this happens, the next shell tries to feed and hits the back of the stuck case,. It's not hard to clear just push down new feeding case and close acion to get a new grip on the empty case's rim. I'm going to try checking the extractor spring next, if this dosen't take care of it she's going back to factory for warenty TLC. Just venting about this. newly cut hay fields with ground hog population over load. 22 works fine but the 22 mag has a little extra something with it's 30 gr vmax, Love the way this little rifle handles with a peep sight and fast second shot if needed. Anyone else haveing extraction problems?

I had the same problem with my golden boy magnum that I purchased in February.  After I had shot about 150 rounds or so it would occasionally fail to extract the spent shell.  Then the problem progressively became worse and I was having at least four hang ups for each full tube.

I sent the rifle back to Henry, it was repaired and returned to me within 8 days, needless to say I was impressed with the prompt repair and return.  According to the good folks at Henry, my firing pin was peening.  I guess it wouldn't allow the extractor to fully close on the spent shell.  I haven't had a problem since.

Anthony Imperato actually sent me an email to describe the problem to me.  He said it should have been discovered before it first shipped to the store, but of course, stuff gets by inspection.  Henry paid the freight for shipping to and from the factory via UPS.

Good luck with the rifle and  with your critter eradication.

Henry has the absolute best customer service in the business.
