The most unusual and scary example of texting I've seen was a woman who was so transfixed on her texting that she almost walked into a closed elevator door, but the door opened just as she got to it. She walked in, bumped into the wall, hardly skipped a beat, backed away from the wall and kept texting. The elevator door closed, and judging by the directional arrow was headed up at least 15 floors because floor 15 was the first stop for that particular elevator (a common practice in tall buildings, some elevators only service a range of floors). I wonder what was so interesting to her.
