Another boycott of husseins lunch program. 1 1/2 oz of meat??

Read full story at link. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

“Any parent would look at some of these lunch trays and say that’s not enough food for my kid for a seven-hour school day,” Huelskamp told Fox News.
That’s why he joined Iowa Rep. Steve King to introduce the “No Hungry Kids Act.” The legislation would repeal the USDA’s rule that created the new, controversial standards.
“Let the school cooks, let the parents, let the school district decide this – not some bureaucrat in the Obama White House,” Huelskamp said.

Huelskamp said the most “damning evidence” that Obama’s regulations are not working is coming from school cooks.
“They tell me ‘We can’t meet these mandates and it will mean less kids will participate in the school lunch program,’” he said.

For example, Huelskamp said students are only allowed one and a half ounces of meat. In a beef state like Kansas, he said that just doesn’t work.
“The idea that one and a half ounces of meat is only what they’re going to be given for two or three days a week is simply not enough for a growing kid,” he said.
“Go look in the trash can,” he said. “There is your failed policy.”

Athletes, such as Hockey players require a lot more food than the school lunch programs have ever provided anyway.  Now they cut the amount of food given out.  Better idea, get the fat kids involved with more active activities.  They were not getting fat from their school lunch, they were getting fat due to inactivity.

For some kids that is the only decent meal they have during the day.  Mom's don't cook or don't bother to feed their kids when they get home.  Cutting the school lunch program is a bad thing.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Our Gdaughter said her son said he gets hungry at school so she went to see for herself and said the portions were not reasonable at all. Seems that hussein wants to control every aspect of our lives. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(

You can bring your own (for now anyway) but if it doesn't meet the new guide lines they the school has the right to take it away from the child.
It has happened in many schools already.
You can have a roll but no butter.
You can't have a bologna or tuna sandwich (to much starch) but you get pizza three times a week.
Give me a break.
I wish I was still in school at lunch time and they tried to take mine, big mistake to come between a dog and his food dish!
Where will it end?
I really feel sorry for the kids.
My youngest plays baseball and wrestles on the varsity team now for 3 years.
He weighs in at 189 to 196 but competes in the heavyweight class which goes all the way to 295 and has gone up against one that weighed in at 305 (and pinned him for the championship).  ;)
My boy stand 5' 6&1/2", you know how much a boy that size and is heavy into sports can eat and they want to give him three small portions of food and a 1/2 pint of milk.
He comes home, eats and then goes back to practice then comes home and eats again!
I am fine with that as long as he is active and stays with in his allowable weight.
The government just wants to controll everything about this country no matter what it is.
BS!!!

My daughter has been complaining to us about the school lunches also. She was still hungry after eating lunch. She now takes a sandwich with her to school to keep from being hungry. Dale

I teach 6th grade math at a middle school in Wyoming. These kids are always hungry, so we provide a 10 minutes healthy (no candy bars or greasy chips) snack break at about 9:30 in the morning. A community group provides snacks for students who can't afford (or whose parents won't provide) healthy snacks. We have found out that the kids perform better during the remainder of the morning and we have less behavior issues. Lunch is at 11:30, and many of the students are finished eating in 10 minutes. Not a lot of food seems to go to waste. About half of our students bring their lunches from home. Lots of leftovers so we provide microwaves to heat them up. Lots of junk though too. We don't approve, but I would never tell a child they can't eat something brought from home. I just don't see how Skittles and a Coke are good for a developing body...or for anyone for that matter.
