Lot of dead fawns around my area, supposedly blue tongue

not cool, I went out to check the land for the first time in a couple months, and one stand has a dead deer right next to the tree, the other one has one about 25yds away.  that second one hadn't even been nibbled on because the hide and bones are still intact- it looks like it's insides were vacuum sealed.  that's bad when coons and squirrels won't nibble a dead fawn... it must have been really nasty BEFORE it died.

Blue tongue and EHD are very closely related and seem to be doing quite a bit of damage in several states. Both are transimitted by biting midges. Nebraska is currently having quite a bit of deer mortality due to this. Not sure if the drought conditions are concentrating infected animals and midges around water sources, but that is one theory. Sick/dead animals are also often found near water.

Got the attached photo of a button buck we're now calling Knuckle Buck that apparently survived as we've photo'd him since and he seems OK.  Not supposed to be EHD here...awaiting word from the FWC Biologist though.

i haven't seen any live ones acting weird but i've seen only five? fawns alive and one healthy doe in four months.  the farmer and other hunters have said they've seen and heard of deer around my hunting spot foaming at the mouth and looking emaciated.
