A Hello from above the waterline in Louisiana!
« on: October 04, 2012, 04:00:41 AM »
Bought a Handi Rifle. I started searching the net, I ended up here. I would like to say thanks to all that have taken there time to document their journey with this little gun. Mine is a 35 Whelen to be used for "primative weapon" season in Louisiana. Already started on a few projects as listed in the FAQ area.  Thanks for the info

I hunt duck in Pointe-au-chene, that's near Houma. I am a St Charles Parish lifelong resident. My family was some of the germans that les cote des Allemands ( the German Coast on the Mississippi River) was named after. Love all food Cajun is my favorite, mexican next, anything that's not moving is right behind it.

a shrimp po' boy and go to
pointe au chene and turn right
and go across the causeway to
isle de jean charles past the
marina.
caught many a redfish and trout
and flounder there.
wish i had a nickle for every fish
and crab and duck that's been
taken out of that area.
been there when it flooded & we
took the boat down the street.

Love fresh, never frozen frogs, deep fried and hot, nothing quite like them. I didn't make it frogging this year for some reason. I'll try again in the late Feb or March warm up. Some like shrimp poboys, I'm an oyster poboy man myself. I love oysters raw best, then char broiled and then fried up on a good poboy with fresh creole tomatos. Ya'll making me hungry.
