I myself would not respect any one who protested the war and still do not have any tolerance for modern day protesters. Am I a war monger no not really but I do realize at times we have to take up arms to protect our country wether we may be in uniform or not and I do not respect anyone who protest against our country and a officer of the armed services really should know better! To me any one who protest against this country is a traitor and we do not need any one like that for our Commander in Chief if God forbid he would be elected!!  :x  Jim

Once a hero...always a hero....
Hanoi Jane's sidekick likes to call himself..."The New England Patriot".

Let's examine another New England Patriot...

This guy was a businessman that answered his country's call!
He was courageous to a fault.
He led a courageous commando type raid where he got wounded in the leg.
He was, even as a General Officer, in the thick of the fighting.
At one point he led a charge into the center of the enemy line, sustaining another leg wound.
In fact for his first five years, he was arguably our most courageous and successful field grade officer.

Then, quite suddenly, for his own reasons, he changed dramatically and brought great shame upon himself!

Students of American History will recognize this general as Gen. Benedict Arnold!!!
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

IIRC Maj. Andre (the British officer Benedict Arnold was dealing with) was hanged as a spy. Benedict Arnold escaped and died some years later in England.

That works for me wether he was out of the service when he protested or still in the service he was a traitor as far as I am concerned! Jim

Read it and draw your own conclusions....others to consider..The Vichy French... and the Norweigan Quislings.
All these foregoing groups seem to have been "patriots" at one time.
Personally, I consider patriotism a lifelong commitment!
