NICE! Long shot, too... ain't it grand?
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Congrats, nice deer.  Your area sounds like ours. Bucks only show once in a great while.

Thanks for the compliments guys. We have 126 acres in on the river. Of this 126, almost 100 of it is in tillage. We have about a 15 yd strip of wooded riverbank and about the same for a creek bottom. The only "timber" we have is about 7 acres of ash. There is a 18 acre planted pine thicket bordering us to the west, and this is where the majority of the deer that we see come from. They come out of the pine into the fields in the eveings to feed. Its gotten real rare to see deer on a steady basis anymore. All of the land to the south of us is the same way for about a mile, and the land to the north is a very good mix of hardwood timber and smaller fields. Those guys see deer regulary and kill bucks every year. Our place in just WIDE OPEN. Hopefully in the coming years when my dad and uncle inherit the place, I can talk them into pulling some of it out of tillage and make for some better hunting.
