S&W Mountain Gun in .44 Magnum. Handloads easily and economically, accurate and reliable, concealable with some effort in the summer. 180 gr bullets for plinking, small game and HD/SD. Heavier bullets in noisier loads as needed to hunt most anything in the lower 48.

Buckmark or Ruger Mark ?, whichever you like best. .22 LR for reasons previously discussed in this thread.
And the Mountain Gun. (Almost a tie with .45 ACP.)
