I am not aware of anyone making them now.  Gonic made barrels for Contenders years ago, and they come up once in a while on the Classifieds.

You could get a g2 and get a muzzle loader barrel for it.  I think TC still sells these.
I had one of the gonic arm barrel and wish I still had it was a very good shooter.

TC made both 209x50 and 209x45 for the g2 .

To the best of my knowledge they are NOT available any more from TC .

Best bet is to watch the net for one .

If you find one make sure you get the correct forend ,they are both different and will not interchange with each other .

The G2 barrel has a stub on the breech end that won't allow it to work with an original frame.  TC claimed it was because the original Contenders were prone to black powder residue getting into the works and causing rust.   I guess I don't know how the G2s are any better at this, but that was the reason.  Others have modified G2 barrels to fit, but I am not recommending this.

I agree with you Keith.  That is why I got rid of my Encore Muzzleloader, it started getting blowback in the firing pin over time.  You did not need to clean it everytime, but it would get to the point of gumming the firing pin bad enough that it would not fire.  Then the question becomes how often do you clean it to insure operation.  Must have just been me though, few others complain about it.  I think the G2 would be the same way.

I have a 10" .45 cal. muzzleloader barrel for the contender, has same sights ,looks just like any other bull barrel except for a small cutout on each side of the barrel at the back to relieve any pressure from the primer/powder blast. I've never had any evidence of any blackpowder getting into action and I use the real stuff, Goex 3F.  Most accurate ML pistol  barrel I've ever seen. I've been shooting it for , at least, 15 yrs. I have never seen one, so it is not my opinion about the material getting into the action.  That was TC's rationalization for making the front stuffing barrels that would only fit G2s.  There was a lot of speculation that G2s were sronger than Contenders, and I am sure that TC didn't want to fuel that.
It is good to hear that the action is staying clean for you.
