Barrel shoots low
« on: October 24, 2012, 05:46:47 PM »
I have a Green Mountain, 54 caliber drop-in barrel for a T/C Hawken.  It shoots four inches low, and the rear sight is adjusted as far as it will go.  Any suggestions?

Bubba covered the sure fix, but I just thought i'd add that different projectiles/powder charge can sometimes raise or lower poi pretty well. Was just shooting one over the weekend that hits a foot lower at 50 yards with maxi balls versus lighter sabots. May or may not help but a lighter bullet might move you up.  J

It's a roundball barrel.

if it has the ugly fiber-tic sights on it that grn mtn uses on their barrels you could put a renegade front sight on & get considerably lower. if that don't lower it enough then ya can start filin' it down til it hits where ya look.

Move the rear sight up a few clicks and then start filing down the front. You can get it filed down to where you want it and still have some elevation adjustment down in case you use different projectiles.
