Party post assessment
« on: November 09, 2012, 06:24:06 AM »
As some of you know , I lost my Job in June and have not had access to a computer.  However after the election I asked my mom if I could use hers this afternoon for a moment as I was curious how all the Romney supporters on this website would handle the aftermath of the election, and the comments they would post. I found a lot of finger pointing but not much political party self assessment.

So here's my two cents -  I voted RP and proud of my vote. He was most in line with my core beliefs.

I do not see much changing in Washington, though I will; remain optimistic.

The Dems still control the senate , the dysfunctional Republican party the House (though dems have picked up additional seat in both, as well as 5 out of 6 governorships. (This should tell the right extremists something, but unfortunately wont). and the Dems the presidency.

What I do not see much of  - is an internal assessment of the new dysfunctional republican party I walked away last year after I concluded there was just no room for my moderate social, and conservative fisacal views supported under their tent for me anymore. Until the republicans can figure out a way to become more inclusive and expand their tent and do away with  - 100% our way or the highway mentality , annex their extreme far right obstructionist wingnuts that hold the republican party hostage they will continue to become an ever shrinking, more marginalized , and less effective party moving forward.

This new republican party that contains a minority of it's body alined with right wing extremism views will no longer be an effective voice in our political discourse when their platform own policies continue to alinate just about every expanding voter demographic except old white guys.

The world is changing, They cannot continue to just say anything to anyone depending on audience they are addressing
yet their policies and legislative actions show voters otherwise. The republican party should be able to figure out a way to hold onto core beliefs and values without alienating those who don't 100% agree with them at all times. Unless they begin to learn tolorance and regain their moderate inclusive voice I once knew and start adopting a philosiphy of inclusion not exclusion the party will quickly become irrelevant and go the way of the dinosaur  --  Extinct.

Perhaps Beohner will decide to no longer remain hostage to these extremist nut jobs within his own party, wrestle back control from the obstructionists within  and place it in the hands of the more sane mature adults politicians and begin to work with all to start solving real issues for the common good. The republican Party I once aligned myself with may return once  again. And then so can I.

Perhaps the word COMPROMISE (you don't get all you want , we don't get all we want , but together the American people get effective policies they need) won't remain a DIRTY word this time round.

One can hope.

I look at it like the left is the purely dysfunctional party. I can only say that the mainstream media has intentionally failed to protray ( abject treason) Obama for what he is. As a propaganda machine they are unsurpassed. The left won on the inner city vote of those who have been living on Righty Whitey's dime and they have bitten the hand that feeds them ( good for them, I am opting out). They will pay for this I assure you. Any party that depends on class bigotry, racism and lies to get in office is doomed. If for some odd reason you are proud of this it won't be long before you question your lack of wisdom.

Funny isn't it, How "compromise" has always worked for the left? But when the right tries it it has always bit them on the arse!

Compromise has had us drifting to the left for my entire life. :P
