swapping a bench for buckets 99 tacoma
« on: January 30, 2013, 01:47:15 AM »
I don't have an issue with my 99 tacoma except that it feels like it's breaking my back.
I want to keep it since it only has 66,000 miles on it.
So, have any of you folks ever put bucket seats in one instead of the bench seat.
it's the short cab.
and if you found seats from a wreck, what's a ballpark figure for costs.

Hey Bugeye! I did that in my f-150. The bench seat was gettin beat and one day while I was working right out in front of a local junk yard there sat a full size ford bronco about same year as my f-150. I went over talked with the yard owner and got a really good deal on those two bucket seats! I hauled him in some dirt and he gave me the seats! And, they are same color as interior of my truck! Dandy seats Man!! Far as a ballpark figure, I'd say if you pull the seats out and can get away with payin $100.oo or less you got a steel. I would actually figure $150.oo to $200.oo for good seats.  scout4

Thanks, I'll probably hit the junkyards next week.  that price is good for me, even more if necessary.

One thing about a junkyard, especailly if its a big yard you will have your pick of bucket seats. I was "blessed" with mine! We were only there working out in front of that junkyard that day and there sat the bronco! I was surprized no one else had taken those seats as they where in as just about perfect condition, and the bronco had already been picked over pretty good. Anyway, good luck! hope you find what your lookin for! scout4
