well my better half bought me a optima today for my birthday on the 16th
i was tooo happy
i bought myself a optima pistol earlier this year n love it.
so she thought i would love a longgun to match
well i do love the feel of it so far but the problem is
i take it apart to clean and get the s# and i look under the barrel only to see that there are some gouges and scuffs or scrapes in the under lug on right side. so i go get my optima pistol out and take it apart no gouges or scrapes. im thinking wow new gun should not have gouges let alone a used one on the barrel lug. so i start looking to see why the marks are there. they are inline with one of the 4 ill call pillers in the inside of the receiver there are 2 on each side. seems either the barrel was dropped or the lil piller is hitting the barrel apon shutting the gun ?. but then i think these are pretty deep in the lug could not be from just shutting the gun. the inside of the receiver is not messed up just the lug got me confused and bumming. also there is a scrape on the release lever on the left side from the trigger guard. i look at my pistol no marks on the release lever and i have shoot the pistol a bunch of times no marks. its sunday afternoon and cant talk to anyone till tomorrow so i just put in back in the box. going to call cva bpi today see what gives im sure they will take care of it. im bumming im going to have to send it in for i guess a new gun.
i never sent a gun in for replacement or fix ive been lucky sofar but its bound to happen.

well after talking to brensen at bpi-cva
A+ TO HIM
very good CS
going to send the optima in and they will figue it out and send me a new gun or the same receiver if its ok and a new barrel but he assured me that the receiver would not have put gouges in the under lug
thats what i was thinking the barrel lug should be harder than the receiver
will post results as i get them
again great CS at bpi/cva

lad to see their customer service has improved. I e-mailed a couple of questions two years ago, and aside from an acknowledgement of receipt, I'm still waiting for my replies.
