For all you in the path of Sandy...
« on: October 29, 2012, 01:32:02 AM »
I hope you guys on the east coast get through this one okay.  I know sometimes the news over-hypes these sorts of things, but it's always best to stay on the side of caution.  Everybody stay safe out there.
I'm voting 3rd party in this election by writing in Jesus Christ for president.  Sadly even if this were an option most of you would still vote Republican because "It's a two party system."

Sitting here in central CT. It's raining, 53 degrees and its already blowing 25-30 constant with gusts to mid 40's.  Forcasts for us say its gonna be more a wind event than rain . But the poor folk at the shore are already being evacuated because we have a Full moon and at least two high tides to deal with. They say 10' PLUS tides are to be expected.

Irene left some of the state without power for almost a Month, with most back with in two weeks. Some areas of the CT coast are STILL damaged with remnants of Irene. My wife and I have a centimantal Resturant in Fenwick on the mouth of the CT River that has only been re opened about 50 days since re building from Irene. We all KNOW they will see damage from this one starting today at high tide...

Anyone reading this who is in effected areas, please check on elderly neighbors!!

Prayers to all those effected!!!

It's good to be prepared, and I wish the best for all those in the path.  However, news is a bit slack this week, so I think the media is playing this one up beyond what it really is.  But I ain't no weatherman, so I don't know.  Just my opinion.

If the damage is comparable to the ice storm we had here in MO back in 2010 then it's gonna be a while before things get back to normal up there.  I feel for anyone up there now.  It's not fun.

Where I am here in central CT, we where lucky. Just wind maybe a couple inches of rain and spotty power outages.

The poor people living on the coast and in Long Island, Main land NY and New Jersey. Many have severe damage others have no homes at all.

Prayers at all those so effected.

I wonder how Cameraland fared? My oldest lives in Boston. All is well with them.
