Tomorrow Kroger has duracells on sale, been on all week. 4 AA for $1.99, or 2 C or D for the same price. I stocked up on the AAs, I'll wait for the Ds when the energizers come on sale. We stock up for a year every fall on bttys cause somebody always has them on sale in Nov and Dec. Hardly anybody does in the summer.
If ya like canned chili the hormel is 99 cts. We always stock up in the winter cause nobody has it on sale in the summer.
In the summer we buy a bunch of hot dogs when they're on sale to last til the next summer too, cause nobody has them cheap in the winter.
Around Thanksgiving and Christmas celery will be cheap, especially rt after Thanksgiving. We buy a bunch, chop it and dry it to use in soups, stews, etc. We buy onions the same way and dry them too in slices. Great for soups, stews, chili, laid on top of a roast, etc.
This is the time of year to buy ham on sale too, slice and bag it and freeze it for later in the year. For beans we buy picnics instead of ham hocks. Picnics cost less and ya actually get some meat. Cut it off the bone and into chunks, ziplock enough for a pot of beans and freeze til needed. Add the bones too. Hardly anybody has a sale on hams any other time of the year.
Anyway, just a lttle economics for ya. Stocking up on seasonal sales saves money. POWDERMAN.
