Rmeington 660
« on: February 10, 2004, 05:42:42 PM »
I have a Remington 660 in 243. Im thinking about having some custom work done to it. I dont know if it would be worth it.
The main thing I want is one of Richards Microfits stocks with a new barrel.
Should I have the action checked out to see if its worth it?
Or would it be better just to start off with a new Remington 700?

The 660's are becoming a bit pricey to chop up if in original condition..  There action is very little different in the main from a 700, although it is shorter.  I would consider selling the 660 and buying a 700 for a donor.  You will probably save money... which of course you'll probably spend on some other gun project,  Amazing isn't it!!  A used 700 BDL should  bring in the $350-400 dollar range the 660 would probably bring about $100 more perhaps even more if you can hold it until May-June..
