Chicago adds a $25.00 sales tax to each firearm sale.  This is probably only the beginning.  You don't need laws to confiscate weapons...you just need the authority to tax them, and ammunition out of exhistence.....watch carefully

Politicians always seem to think they have a mandate when the reality is people just dislike the other side more.


I wonder how many of the shootings were done with legally owned guns.


IDEA;  how about making shooting people against the law.


Seems there will be a movement to tax speech also, but they will call it a "yard sign cleanup fee" or disposal fee or some such.


This will spread.  Next a registration and permit fee (or does Illinois already have one).


Colorado is already "working on implementing the law" over pot.  It will take over a year.  I call it stonewalling.  This is related in that the government has their best interests at heart.

I think they are rebuilding the base for blackmarket development. At $10 a pack, even with high gas prices, I think I would be loading up on cigarettes and heading for Chicago. Hell, haul them in a Prius with an Obama sticker and a disabled license plate, you even get the best parking spot and lower transportation costs. Every time something like this happens, there is money to be made.
PS Cigarettes are LEGAL to have anywhere
