George,
Thank you! I realized something as I became a professional soldier medic. The better medic I am, the more likely my fellow soldiers are to take any necessary chances to complete the mission. My guys never doubted my abilities and it showed in everything they did. That is the ultimate honor for a medic.

Thanks, Dinny

Dinny, when you couple that with a savy old Top Kick and a C.O. who's intelligent enough to listen to him you've got morale and troops able to do about anything ;)   Without confidence in their support or leadership they're useless.

Congratuations, that is awesome!  I hope the Bronze Star was for treating the wounded and not for being one of the wounded.   Now no more John Wayne stuff and get your hindquarters back home in one piece.  The Mrs. & the little ones are waiting for their hero to return. 8)

It was for treating dozens of wounded troops, as well as, equipping and training the Afghan Uniformed Police to do the same.

Thanks, Dinny

As the holder of a Viet-Cong markmanship award, I agree combat medics are my favorite people.

2 days away from being home. Kyrgyzstan isn't all that bad this time of year if you like snow and subzero temps. My excitement is melting the snow. ;D

I've had a brief chance to check out the Grendel Handi and it looks great! I had never handled the ammo until today. That small case sure does pack a punch into it. I'm almost afraid to say what will become of my other rifles if this one is a shooter.  :o more to follow when time allows.

Thanks,Dinny

Glad your home, take care of mama, and the kids first.  Welcome back!

If I remember correctly, the Grendel case is base on the 7.62x39 case, so it should be interesting to see how it shoots in a Handi.  We all wait with bated breath for your range reports. ;D
