It is not too difficult to cut and recrown a barrel.  You could always do it yourself.

You may be able to rent a muzzle chamfer/muzzle facing tool.  Perhaps someone on the forum has one available?  If not, Midway, Brownells, or one of the other suppliers have them.  Myself, I have used a round stone and then a brass screw, coated with abrasive paste and chucked in an electric drill.  I had excellent results.

well i called bullberry this morning and to have them shorten , recrown and touch up the blueing on  the barrel is going to cost around 70.00 plus shipping both ways and a 5-6 week turnaround . after watching several vidios on utube on recrowning  i'm really tempted to try it myself

If the scratch is at the muzzle, why not polish and blue the scratch? A cut and crown would be better at 16" to retain the carbine potential don't you think?

well went over to my buddys last night and we cut and recrowned the barrel decided to shorten the barrel to 16"that way i could still make it  into a carbine by getting a stock . at 16" it fells like it's the same weight as the 14" factory barrel . i thought he was going to use the lathe, but we cut the barrel with a cut off saw then used a 90 degree cutter to square up the muzzel then a 18 degree cutter to cut the crown  and we did a finial polishing of the crown with a 30 caliber bullet in a drill using laping compound just got done touching up the blueing hopefully i can get up in the woods to see how it shoots in the next few days

I'm betting this barrel is going to perform just fine.

i'm sure it will the crown came out better looking than my factory 223 barrels why is there so many diffeent crown styles on the factory barrels?  my 223 looks like it was cut off square  and barely has any chamfer on it  my 41mag and my 30-30 both have a slight counter bore and slightly rounded muzzel
