Microsoft windows vista security vs norton?

I've had it with norton antivirus and it has to go. Are the security features in windows good enough in terms of virus scan? Or is there another decent less invasive antivirus? I asked before about an alternative, but lost the answer.

Microsoft security essentials....very good, doesn't slow down the machine, and it's at no additional charge.

I would suggest you get rid of Vista and keep Norton.  Daughter bought a new puter some time back that came with Vista and the best thing to happen to it was to convert it to XP and later to 7.  Vista was never well thought out.

I just bought a new HP computer with windows 8 ,it is horrible I am telling home depot I want my money back.Nothing works ,its no faster and certainly lots harder to use. fyi
