looking for a 45

A friend of mine wants a 45 "real bad".  He isn't too choosie as to who makes it eather.  He wants a good shooter, can be double or single action, just no double action only (if there is one in 45) doesn't have to be real pretty, just shoot well.  Any body got one for a good price??
