How to remove the FA scope base from M83

Hi, I have an early M83 .454 with a FA scope base and a Leupold scope.

Recently I wanted to remove the scope base and mount the iron sights. I removed all screws, but the base does not move a dime
(I tried manual moderate force, and heating with a hairdryer). I suspect the base is glued to the gun.

Any hints/tricks on how to best remove the base ?

Maybe soak it in Kroil if you have some around.
