Piebald going on neighbors wall
« on: November 20, 2012, 10:41:39 PM »
One of my neighbors got a piebald doe yesterday. After he shot it, he could not figure out the coloring ;D  He dont play on the web. He has seen albino but not a piebald. Here a picture of the hip. I went down and took some pics last night. He is going to skin it out and call me so I can get better pics. She was about 100 lbs. Sorry for the pic size you may have to increase your screen size.

This is a cell phone pic or a pic. Computer not cooperating with camera.

Very cool.

I have seen them only in pictures, but never in the field. I live in Carroll, but hunt in White county. The local bait shop/check-in station had someone check in a nice piebald bck a couple of years back that was taken about a mile from where I live. No one there had seen him in the area before. I hope I get to see one in the woods one day, and hopefully during deer season.  :)

A trail cam I had set up on one of our green fields took a pic back in October of this young doe with the white markings. Last Saturday while hunting another stand I had a young spike come out with the same markings. Brother and sister or one of the parents passing on the gene ? Not sure. One of my friends wants to take one of them and tan the hide. I just like looking at them. Now if the spike makes it thru the season and comes back as a rack buck next year, that's another story.

I agree with you. It would kill me to wait a year, but it would be worth it if he can make it that long.
