Buds Handi 45-70
« on: November 20, 2012, 03:25:13 PM »

BudsGunShop has a Handi 45-70 with a Barska 2-7x32 scope...do you think the scope will hold up?

Personally, I would try to find a bare gun and check opticsplanet for some deals on better scope.  Swift makes some decent budget scopes and I see there's a fixed 4x32 for $105.

You can try it, and if you like the Barska, send me shipping and I will give you two more.  Though I don't know what you would use them for...... >:(

I have some Simmons shotgun scopes, that have a 75 yd. parallax, and 6" of eye relief, and have held up well with all the big kickers.  You should be able to pick one up somewhere between $40.00 and $90.00 dependent on which one you would want.

Just my opinion, yours may differ! :D

When it come to bargain scopes, I've never owned/used a Barska, however I'm quite fond of the Mueller brand of optics when it come to a less expensive scope. 45-70 sports some pretty stout recoil, especially in a Handi. But then again this isn't a precision rifle by ay stretch.

I've got a Barska.  I think so much of it I'll send it to you free.  You pay the postman.  Oh, by the way.....it doesn't work as a scope, but it'd be a pretty neat target ::)
