71 year old Armed Citizen vs. "Teen" Home Invaders

Another Florida stand your ground case.

Old story from 2011, but shows the importance of being armed and not opening door to strangers.  Three "teens"  ( )  (guess what race?)   knocked on door and hit 71 year old  white homeowner in head with baseball bat.  He pulled gun and shot two of them. 
Notice the picture of one of the perpetrators.  He looks like what Obama's son would look like if he had one.

Good news:  They ran away. Bad news...they lived.

A great story with a happy ending except that the "teens" lived and are probably out on probation assaulting  elderly white people again.

BTW, I'm surprized that the 71 year old man had the presence of mind to draw and shoot after taking a blow to the head that required 8 staples to close up..........let alone being able to make a descision to not shoot at the one who was running away! Good on him!

having the presence of mind is the important factor...possibly being a combat vet...yea...could be retired LE, or just plain ole not afraid to defend himself.


these three thugs would have willingly slain this man, during the commission of this crime, had he not had presence of mind to defend himself, and more than likely, been give a pass by courts due to their age and ethnicity.


our legislators  especially  here in California have forgotten, or choose to neglect, that we do have a right to, lawfully, defend ourselves...and especially when out numbered by thugs such as theses.


i'd daresay most 71 year-olds are not able to go toe-to-toe with most aggressors and be successful in defending themselves without a firearm.
